TransForum 2026

A space for trans people, activists, and allies, created to discuss current needs and work together to protect the rights of trans people in Ukraine.

TransForum 2026 — a three-day forum in Kyiv, created as a safe space for trans people and a platform for the community to join forces in defending their rights. The forum brought together more than 110 participants.

The main topics of the forum were:

  • Updating the gender transition procedure in Ukraine in accordance with the new ICD-11;
  • violations of trans people's rights in the draft of the new Civil Code;
  • the current needs of trans people;
  • The experiences of transgender service members in the military.

The program combined panel discussions, art workshops, and a charity fair. Special attention was given to the experiences of transgender service members.

One of the outcomes of the forum was the TransForum Resolution, drafted by the organizers and participants. It identified key areas of focus for protecting the rights of the trans community and established corresponding working groups.

During the forum, 24,022 hryvnias were also raised to support transgender service members.

TransForum was organized by the Coalition of Ukrainian Trans Organizations—the NGOs “Resistance,” “Emancipation,” and “TPivden,” and the civic initiative “VoiceT”—with support from the Swedish organization RFSL.
