We must have a seat at the table where decisions about us are made.

Together with ILGA-Europe, we carried out a five-month advocacy project focused on the experiences of trans and non-binary people during medical examinations and their interactions with the Transgender Coordination Center. From March through July 2025, we collected and organized case studies from the community, primarily through surveys. The data we gathered formed the basis of our advocacy work.

Resistance has joined an informal coalition working on civil law advocacy for a new Civil Code of Ukraine. We participate in roundtables and meetings with government officials, discuss the proposed amendments to the Civil Code in the media, and explain their impact on human rights. We also take part in protests and support relevant petitions.

Resistance initiated the creation of a coalition of transgender organizations in Ukraine—a space for collaboration and advocacy on behalf of the transgender community. As part of the coalition’s work, the Trans Forum took place on June 6–8, 2026. Together with the community and civil society organizations, a resolution was drafted outlining the key needs and demands of the trans community. The resolution served as an advocacy document and is part of the recommendations to be included in the report for the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).
