TRANSFORM! — a comprehensive project by Resistance aimed at improving trans people’s access to quality medical care and related social services.

Trans people often face a lack of awareness about transgender issues among medical and social service professionals, which creates barriers to accessing professional help.

The project combines research on community experiences, training for professionals, psychological support, and advocacy for the implementation of ICD-11. Particular attention is paid to increasing the positive visibility of trans people in society and expanding the circle of allies.

Main Areas of Work

Research and Analytics

  • A study of trans people’s experiences with access to medical and related social services.
  • Preparation of an analytical report on systemic barriers, community needs, and opportunities for change.

Training for Specialists

  • Conducting training sessions for healthcare and social service workers.
  • Development of practical resources on how to work with trans persons in a respectful and trans-inclusive manner.

Advocacy and Visibility

  • A dialogue on the implementation of ICD-11, trans-inclusive medicine, and possible recommendations.
  • A public awareness campaign aimed at promoting a positive image of trans people and expanding the circle of allies.

Psychological Support

  • Individual psychological counseling sessions for trans people.
  • Support groups for trans people, their partners, and families.

The project is being implemented with the support of ILGA-Europe.
