Shelter in Slovakia

Shelter — a temporary refuge in Slovakia for members of the LGBTQ+ community from Ukraine, their partners, and families.

Located a two-hour drive from the border with Ukraine, the shelter provided an opportunity to rest after crossing the border, regain strength, and prepare for the rest of the journey. The estimated length of stay was 3–6 days. In some cases, the possibility of staying longer was considered on a case-by-case basis.

The following were available at the shelter:

• sleeping accommodations;
• shower;
• food;
• basic necessities;
• Free Internet.

The shelter was pet-friendly and welcomed people with small pets.

The shelter operated thanks to the joint efforts of IG Resist*ance, RFSL, the NGO “Gender Stream,” Saplinq O.Z., and PRIZMA.
