Programs providing material and humanitarian support to trans people and non-binary persons in Ukraine. Between 2022 and 2025, Resistance distributed more than 600 humanitarian aid kits.
Humanitarian aid is one of Resistance’s areas of focus, aimed at supporting trans and non-binary people in Ukraine who need material assistance and access to essential medications.
Between 2022 and 2025, more than 600 humanitarian aid kits were distributed. At various times, the team carried out individual rounds of aid distribution both independently and in collaboration with partner organizations.
As part of humanitarian programs, trans people and non-binary people were able to receive vouchers to purchase food, household supplies, and medicine.
In 2024, 600 certificates for medications and 600 certificates for food and household supplies were distributed. This assistance was provided with the support of OutRight International.
A separate component of the humanitarian aid was the provision of lighting during power outages.
170 trans people received lighting devices. In various rounds of aid, flashlights and other portable lighting devices were provided, including searchlights equipped with a power bank and a solar panel.
Resistance also participated in programs to provide trans people with the necessary hormone medications.
In one of the projects, nearly 300 people received free hormonal medications. The initiative to distribute the medications brought together Gender Stream, the NGO “Insight,” and Resistance. The project was implemented by Gender Stream in collaboration with the Center for Disaster Philanthropy.
Médecins du Monde Netherlands, ILGA-Europe, AFEW, and COC Nederland have joined another initiative to provide the Ukrainian trans community with hormone medications.
