Cocona, a member of the band "XG," drew attention with their look at the Gucci show during Milan Fashion Week. In December 2025, the artist came out as a transmasculine and non-binary person and uses the pronouns he/they. Cocona also revealed that they had undergone top surgery. At the famous brand’s show, they appeared in a half-open jacket that didn’t cover the scars from the surgery. This sparked a strong reaction from fans, who showed their support for their idol. “Cocona arrived at the Gucci show, proudly displaying the scars from their top surgery—this is historic,” reads one of the posts on social media platform X. During his coming out, the artist stated: “I was born a woman and was perceived as a woman. However, that label never reflected who I truly am. I live the way I feel—in a more masculine way and in a way that aligns with my true self.” The hardest challenge of my life was accepting myself just as I am. And as I gradually began to do so, new doors opened up for me. That moment changed the way I see and understand the world, and gave me the courage and strength to grow. Now I can finally say, “I’m okay just the way I am. There’s nothing wrong with who I am.” Coming out as part of a popular band—and at a time when transphobic rhetoric is on the rise—is truly a brave move. And his choice of look for Fashion Week is truly inspiring—scars aren’t a flaw, nor are they something to be ashamed of; they’re a part of his identity that only reinforces the courage to be himself. We’re definitely rooting for him and looking forward to his new releases.
